Inspired by the decorative interiors of the Nickerson Mansion, four contemporary graphic designs were created for our custom tie collection.

  • The Pinwheel Tie is patterned with the intricate design found in the center of the parquet flooring of the Drawing Room where the symbol evokes innocence, creativity, and the ability to transform obstacles into opportunities.
  • The Geometric Tie is patterned with the dynamic Moorish ornamentation found in the rosewood, oak, walnut, and maple border of the parquet floor, or "wooden carpet," of Roland Nickerson's bedroom.
  • The Graphic Circle Tie is patterned with concentric circle ornamentation, reminiscent of decorative motifs used in Italian Renaissance ceramic tiling and paving.  This elegant pattern was formed in the encaustic tiles of the Nickerson Dining Room fireplace hearth to set a stage for the battle scene depicted in the firebox.
  • The Chrysanthemum Tie invokes the optimistic, honorable, and joyful floral pattern in the glazed ceramic J. & J.G. Low art tiles decorating the fireplace hearth of Mrs. Nickerson's bedroom.
