Artist Théophile Alexandre Steinlen created this iconic haloed cat with a curving tail for the famous Montmartre nightclub in 1896-7, and it became one of the defining images of Belle Époque Paris.
The design on the t-shirt comes from a lithograph featured in our 2017-2018 exhibition, L’Affichomania: The Passion for French Posters.
