Indian artisans intricately hand-embellished this series of art brooches, many of which echo the ornamentation found in the Nickerson Mansion. Visitors who loved the Lincrusta frieze in the Smoking Room may remember it by choosing the chrysanthemum as an adornment, while the sunflower recalls the pattern and tile work in Mrs. Nickerson’s Sitting Room.
Each individual brooch is a marvel, with intricate weaving and a wonderful variety of beads and sequins creating a masterfully textured and lifelike glimpse of the nature that inspired so much of the interior design of the Mansion.
These brooches make wonderful gifts and are among our best-selling items in our Museum Store.
